Adventurers Wanted, Book 1: Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman. Published by Shadow Mountain.

"Adventures wanted. Apply within" was what it said in the window of Mr. Clutter's bookshop. Intrigued, fifteen-year-old Alexander Taylor (aka Alex), steps in the shop hoping that it will give him an escape from his boring life. Almost before he enters, he is assaulted by Mr. Cluttler, who gets him to fill out an application for an adventure. Alex is cut off everytime he tries to answer a question and is soon meeting elves, dwarves and Oracles on a quest to find the lair of Slathbog the Red, a very evil Dragon with an enormous treasure. But getting there is half the fun... if you consider fighting trolls and bandits fun!

I loved this book! It was very gripping. The plot and idea of 'Slathbog's Gold' is unique and refreshing. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the title, but you can't judge a book by its cover! I loved the characters and they themselves were very realistic. A very creative book, I recommend it for ages 10 and up.
