I Just Got a Letter From Allyson Pringle by Anya Bateman. Published by Deseret Book.

Allyson Pringle (aka Alysee, pronounced like Alice) is Hollenda High's funny kid, and the class clown, so when studious Kenndal Archer finds out he has TWO classes with her, he goes crazy and so does his best friend Arnold. This year Spanish and history are going to be a blast! But Kenndal soon finds out that there is more to Alysee then just being funny and that there is more to himself then just being serious. Alysee uses her quirky methods to pull him out of his shell and soon they are unlikely but great friends. Unfortunately, the good times don't last. When a prank of Alysee's goes a bit over the edge in a class with a super strict, super mean teacher, Kenndal Archer is faced with a choice of letting the good times roll or forsaking them to be perfectly honest.

This was a great story. It has a surprising but refreshing ending. Anya Bateman invents characters that have real depth to them and are very believeable. This book teaches a wonderful lesson about honesty and that true friends stick with you no matter what. It also teaches that people make mistakes but we still need to be there for them. I reccommed this book to everyone age 12 and up.
